この講座では礼の心がこもった、和装ならではの美しい立ち居振る舞いを指導致します。【和装道】や礼法の起源についての講義から始まり、【正中・上座・下座】の概念、立ち方、正座、立ち座り、歩行、回転、四段階の座礼・立礼、物の持ち方・受け渡しなどを練習。更にはビジネス上でも役立つ礼法として、約束時間の概念、言行一致、訪問時の作法、玄関での作法、お手土産の渡し方、和食の作法、応接、話し方や手紙・メールの書き方まで、指導致します。

また着物ファッションショー・モデル講義では、【上手・下手】の概念、舞台上の歩き方、速度、ポーズの仕方、ポーズの位置、角度、袖の扱い方、魅せ方、団扇や和傘などの小道具の扱い方などから、時間の許す範囲で指導致します。

WDC和装道着物クラブ会員さん、浴衣自装習得が間もなくでクラブ入会希望の生徒さんは、必須の講座です。先人が連綿と受け継いでこられた日本の精神性に触れることで、ただの着付けを越え、近代日本人が失っている立ち居振る舞い・礼儀作法を身に着け、「和を装う道」・調和ある豊かな和装人生を学び愉しんで頂ければ幸いです。受講希望の方は、お気軽にお問合せ下さい。この貴重な講座を通して、優雅な大和撫子の立ち居振る舞いを、是非学んで下さい。

* Basic tips on standard Greeting/Salutation

Atelier Kanawa's studio : Private Lesson (1.5 hours per lesson)  

Washington D.C. : Quarterly Group Lesson (3 hours per lesson)

GROUP WORKSHOP BY TRAVEL: For corporations, universities, organizations, Japanese language schools, Japanese families, U.S. military/diplomat who will be stationed in Japan, those who work with Japanese corporation/professionals

In this class, you learn the fundamental to refined manner / decorum to gracefully and properly present yourself in a kimono so that you do not appear that you are worn by Kimono.

Starting with the lecture of “Waso-do” (Kimono way of life) and the origin of Japanese decorum, you learn the concept of “Seichu/Kamiza/Shimoza” (seat of honor/lower seat, based on sacred midline), practice standing, seiza, walking, turning, and the four levels of bow. Students also learn graceful communication decorum such as conveying your speech and writing.

Class also includes business manners/decorum of appointment time concept, keeping promise, visiting decorum, apology, entrance decorum, how to hand the gift, Japanese table manner, invitation, speech, proper writing letters/emails.

 

Students also lean Kimono hair styling and Kimono related accessories making.

For Kimono fashion show model segment, students learn the concept of “Kamite/Shimote” (stage left/right), practice as much as possible from walking on stage, speed, pose, posing positions, angles, attractive movements, and handling the sleeves and props.

Taking this class is required for all the Washington D.C. Kimono Club members to preserve their membership, as well as students who are close to completing yukata course and plan to apply for membership. Please take full advantage from this remarkable opportunity to learn how to present you in a graceful manner when wearing a kimono like a Yamato Nadeshiko.

This quality class offers beyond Kitsuke (putting on Kimono) enriches your Waso-do (Kimono way of life) in harmony, with elegant decorum based on genuine Japanese spirituality. **Cancellation/rescheduling can be made by the class reservation deadline. Refunds will not be given to cancellations or no shows after this date. Your credit can be used up to one month from the day for the class, only if the reason of the absence is an emergency.
