江戸つまみ簪講座 Edo Tsumami Kanzashi Workshop
Monthly Edo Tsumami Kanzashi workshop is currently offered for private students at Atelier Kanawa studio or by virtual platform. Please refer the pictures below for monthly pieces which used to be offered at Japan-America Society of Washington D.C.
New students can always start as Beginner 1. After learning the history, types, materials, motifs, artisanship of the Edo Tsumami Kanzashi through lecture, you will challenge the fundamental Maru-tsumami (round pinching). Students who complete Beg. 1 proceed to the next level at the following month and learn new techniques & designs. You will be able to make many types of Edo Tsumami Kanzashi as seen below throughout the year.
Experimental workshops for making basic little pieces can be also offered at events, such as Anime conventions and Japanese cultural related conventions.
